Cleaning and disinfecting in environments such as memory care and senior living communities where residents are more vulnerable to toxic chemicals and their hazards can be particularly challenging. In addition to fulfilling standard cleaning duties, there are extra concerns:
- Different types of chemicals may be needed for a wide variety of spaces or purposes (dining room, resident units, activity spaces, etc.)
- Higher risk of residents inhaling or even ingesting harmful chemicals, like the incident last year, when one resident died and two others were sickened after ingesting dishwashing liquid
- Preventing the spread of viruses like COVID, the Flu, and Norovirus (which is on the rise)
- Some residents may struggle with incontinence, leading to additional cleaning and odor control efforts
Toxic cleaning chemicals are dangerous, and in these environments, extra care must be taken to protect residents from harms that may be less likely in other types of facilities.
James Lee, CEO and Co-Founder of a memory care facility in Texas, embraced the Viking Pure system when he opened Bella Groves last year. He recently sat down with our very own Daniel Lawson, Viking Pure’s co-founder and President of Business Affairs to talk about why this was such an important move for Bella Groves and how he plans to use our electrolyzed water technology to continue to enhance care and benefit residents.
